Healthcare Assistant 1923R (New Lenox, IL)


Location: New Lenox, IL

Program or Service: Residential Networks

Schedule/shift: Full Time; Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm

Salary (Range): $17.00

We are looking for someone who has experience and enjoys working in the health care field. This person will provide administrative assistance to ensure medical documentation is completed on time, and quality services are being provided to people with intellectual disabilities who are receiving supports.

Responsibilities:

This position includes assisting with tracking, scheduling and coordinating medical appointments for people receiving services based on annual requirements and medical need. The person will also need to maintain communication with the Network leadership team regarding medical updates and benefits for people receiving services.

While coordinating medical appointments, this position will be inputting information into our electronic medical system and providing needed reports when necessary. Having good computer skills is necessary.

Other job duties will be submitting refill requests, coordinating delivery of medication to people receiving services, completing quality assurance reviews related to appointments and tracking and filing related documents.

This support role will also be assisting with transporting people to and from appointments when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • 1-year experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Mental Illness
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and fundamental computer skills
  • LPN, Medical Assistant or Associate Degree related to the field preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Balancing, pulling, pushing, standing, climbing, grasping, stooping, crouching, crawling, kneeling, reaching, lifting, repetitive motion, pushing wheelchairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
