The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key member of the Operations Finance team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growing Global chemicals, fibers and plastics manufacturing company. This position will be part of the Company’s Operations Finance team responsible for various operational processes, reporting and analysis and will report directly to the Finance Director, Operations. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, enjoy a challenging work environment and the opportunity to exercise initiative, be self-motivated, and demonstrate an aptitude to proactively finding solutions and improving work processes.
Position will ideally be located in Houston, with alternate locations being near one of our manufacturing facilities.
TARGETED OUTCOMES/12 MONTH SUCCESS BENCHMARK
- Gain an understanding of manufacturing sites and processes
- Provide key analysis and data that drive better decision making
- Ensure consistent reporting on a global basis
- Ensure data quality and integrity within production cost systems
- Champion a culture of A2E (Six Sigma) in all our thinking and processes
Key Responsibilities
- Monthly actual product cost processes utilizing SAP’s material ledger functionality
- Monthly variance analysis and reporting of manufacturing spend with a focus on identifying areas of opportunity for the business
- Monthly review and analysis of indirect cost of goods sold
- Oversee updates to standard product cost for all manufacturing and warehouse locations
- Coach sites on production reporting opportunities
- Governmental reporting
- Assist with other Ad Hoc requests and projects as needed
Required Experience And Skills
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
- Experience level of 7+ years in business, accounting, financial planning with data analysis (Manufacturing industry preferred)
- Advanced analytical skills
- Proven skills with database software and ERP packages such as SAP (experience desirable) or JD Edward, Hyperion, BPC or other
- History in building performance relationships and partnering with multiple functions and remote locations
- Ability to assimilate disparate information to develop detailed analysis and options
- Must be able to manage expectations up and handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent oral, written, analytical and interpersonal skills
Foreign language skills are desirable
