Summary:

We are seeking a responsible, dynamic, and highly motivated Research Assistant I/II to support laboratory operations and contribute to drug discovery efforts in the Commisso lab (www.commissolab.com). This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on in-vitro and in-vivo experience in a multi-faceted environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performing in-vitro (DNA, RNA, protein extraction, PCR, Western Blotting, IHC) and in-vivo (health check, body weight, surgery preparations, tissues collection) studies to support preclinical drug discovery.
• Support mouse breeding colony and disease models including breeding setup and genotyping.
• Support laboratory operations including stocking supplies, inventory and general lab upkeep.
• Perform general duties to support the safe and efficient operation of the laboratory as required.
• Assisting with other related procedures as assigned by the supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences or related field.
• Prior laboratory experience in an academic or industry preferred.
• Must be willing to work with laboratory rodents (mice and rats).
• Knowledge of cellular biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, histology, and imaging is plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

• Must be a team-player, reliable, dependable and flexible in adapting to change in a fast-paced working environment.

Compensation:

The rate range for this position is $16.30 - $24.00/hour commensurate with experience.
