We are looking for a strong front-end WordPress developer with some backend skills. This person should be strong in front-end development, but having an understanding of PHP and MySQL is super helpful. This should be a developer who is qualified enough to do tasks without the use of plugins but sensible enough to use them when necessary.
These are our core values. We're looking for someone who aligns with them.
Communication - For happy clients and lower stress, we need great communication on your work and against your deadlines. Communicating with the manager, other developers, and the rest of the team is key.
Efficiency - We want you to learn and have fun but don’t spend too much time on a cool feature or a new gadget when there is a lot of work to do. Our goal is to double the size of the company and we have to have our resources spending their time in the right places. When you build things, take a little extra time to do it in a way that will be reusable save us time next time.
Ownership - We’re looking for people who can get over the finish line on time! You’ll need to finish what you start and not be phased by the old code once the newness has worn off. We don’t want to babysit you. Our PMs don’t enjoy having to follow up and check in every day to see if you’ve done your work. Take your tasks and the overall project by the horns and run with it.
Professional growth - We’re not looking for a 9-5 developer. We want you to love what you do and be invested in learning and getting better. This doesn’t mean don’t have a life outside of work or anything! But consider how are you getting better? How are you getting better at each core value?
Earned respect - You want to work with a team of A-players. We do too! If you communicate well, are very efficient, take ownership and crush your work, continue to get better, and help the company grow you will earn the respect of your teammates and we will all love working together.
