The Rental Operations Strategic Delivery department is responsible for the development of strategic solutions that enable business capabilities for our network of car and truck rental branches worldwide. Senior Manager, you engage and interact with a variety Client, API, Service and Product teams to enable new capabilities of the solutions we are developing in alignment with our Cloud and IT strategies. The technologies used include a mixture of React, Java, Android, Oracle, and on-prem and AWS cloud-based servers. As a
Senior Manager, you will be responsible for defining the goals, objectives, processes, and resources to support the overall strategic vision of the area. You will be responsible for managing complex initiatives, projects and programs that often span multiple disciplines/domains. You will be responsible for managing project scope and costs which includes change management, employee time reporting along with other resource costs, such as, contractors and hardware. You will be responsible for managing impact analysis of issues impacting our global operators. You will be responsible for people management activities including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and performance and salary reviews. You will be responsible for developing and retaining strong performers and preparing them for future responsibilities. You will be collaborating with key business stakeholders, IT leaders across EHI, and external vendors to deliver secure and reliable services that meet business objectives and industry mandates. You will also identify, develop, and implement policies, standards, and procedures that support team activities and lead individuals in adhering to and supporting team procedures. You will initiate, build and maintain strong relationships across IT and Corporate areas. You must be able to quickly assess and prioritize work efforts in an environment that receives new work daily. Required:
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- The IT Senior Manager position typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience
- 5+ years of experience successfully leading, coaching & developing managers and/or technical team leaders
- Extensive experience leading Application Development teams through the entire SDLC
- Self-starter, with proven success executing large, complex projects and programs that span multiple applications and areas
- Strong experience with agile development methodologies and tools
- Experience in the direct supervision of teams comprised of multiple levels of employees, including both professionals and management
- Must be able to demonstrate people development experience at various levels that leads to successful career development and high performing teams
- Must display strong commitment to leadership, building a team-centric environment and possess a strong solution orientation
- Experience supporting cloud-based, large scale or high-transactional volume products
- Proven experience leading teams through change
- Experience partnering with third party vendors
- Experience working with UI design partners
- Experience leading UI development teams
- Proven ability to identify, develop, communicate, and implement standards and procedures that support department objectives

- Willingness to participate in standard off-hours leadership on-call rotations, serving as an escalation point for production issues and solution releases (team maintains a flexible work schedule to try and maintain a 40 hour work week)

Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
- Experience managing in a matrixed reporting structure
- Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
- Experience leading API development teams
