Wright Legal, a boutique estate and probate law firm, is seeking experienced estate planning and probate legal assistant/paralegals to join our team. This role is crucial to efficiently and proficiently run the office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience handling Texas estate planning and probate matters and will be compensated for the experience.

The legal assistants and/or paralegals hired for this position will be well organized, detail oriented, self-motivated to work independently to move cases along and meet deadlines while compassionately caring for our clients by:

  • Answering, screening, prioritizing, and placing telephone calls appropriately; communicating effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, attorneys, paralegals, and court personnel; accurately notating messages and forwarding messages to appropriate persons; and recording messages in case management software.
  • Collecting, logging, and disseminating incoming mail; processing outgoing mail.
  • Maintaining case management/tracking database; capture potential new client/client information, managing deadlines and case related tasks.
  • Drafting wills, estate planning documents, probate applications and other pleadings.

· Communicating compassionately and effectively with clients, aid in the collection and return of client information and documents.

  • Monitoring, prioritizing, and managing daily work flow and firm-wide calendar including scheduling appointments, hearings, and mediations; tracking deadlines and time-sensitive tasks.

· Preparing preliminary drafts of estate planning documents, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence for attorney review; communicate professionally and effectively with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.

· Notarizing documents as needed.

· Meeting internal billing minimum requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills in working with clients, attorneys, court personnel, vendors, etc.; able to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, vendors, attorneys, paralegals, court personnel.
  • Able to exercise high levels of discretion, confidentiality, sensitivity, and integrity.
  • Is highly organized; self-motivated to prioritize workflow for office.
