Position Description
The Phlebotomist performs a variety of pre-analytical tasks in the laboratory under direct supervision. Tasks include collecting and receiving samples for testing in the laboratory, verifying proper patient preparation sample collection and sampling transport requirements. This role also performs laboratory support functions as applicable and has daily interaction with patients, requiring a sense of ownership and attention to detail.
Position Requirements
High School Diploma or GED. Phlebotomy skills. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS). ASCP, AMT, NHA, NCCT, ABB, NPA or eligible for certification by an agency recognized by the Georgia Department of Community Health within 6 months of hire.
