Essential Functions:

The target client is a leading pharmaceutical group responsible for the development of CHO based production cell lines, next-gen cell line engineering efforts and baseline upstream process development for innovative recombinant protein/adjuvanted vaccine projects and platforms. The target client is looking for a motivated professional, specialized in commercial cell line development, CHO protein vaccines. This role will play a significant role in shaping current and next generation leading vaccine platforms to accelerate addressing unmet medical needs, an exciting field having a direct impact into patients and global health. Main core responsibilities:

A. Design and Development of preGMP-grade CHO cell lines for commercial manufacture of recombinant protein vaccine products.

B. Serve as a key team player to support project documentation and CMC regulatory submissions (including raw material control section and cell line derivation report)

Qualifications - External

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in a degree related in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or a related scientific field.

  • Previous industry experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job:
    • Associate Research Scientist: With a bachelor’s degree comparable to 6+ years, with a master’s degree comparable to 4+ years, with a PhD comparable to 2+ years.

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 6+ years).

Hands-on experience with aseptic mammalian (CHO cell preferred) cell line development, especially transfection, single cell isolation, derivation, suspension cell culture at small scales ranging including 96 well-plate, 24 well-plate and shake flask formats.

Experience with expression vector design and optimization for complex recombinant protein production.

Experience with good documentation practices and reports as evidenced by conference proceeding, peer-review publication and/or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge in the cell line development for vaccine and biologicals production in the industrial setting (including a strong CMC understanding)
  • Prior experience in the high-throughput, robotic cell line screening tools (including FACS and Beacon et al) or other high-throughput robotic systems
  • Experience with common nucleic acid- and protein-based analytic assays (including PCR, Luminex and Octet) for early product quantity and quality assessment to support cell line selection. .
