SENIOR COPYWRITER

Job Description

As a senior copywriter, you are a master of conceptual creative ideas and the words necessary to bring them to life. While “copy” and “writer” are in the title, that’s only one part of your job. You are an idea powerhouse, generating creative solutions to client problems. You then use words to shape those ideas into brand platforms and campaigns that drive business and win awards. You are a strategic thinker that develops cool ideas not because they’re cool but because they’re right (but also cool). You have been in the game long enough to know which rules can be broken and when. A senior copywriter doesn’t need to be pushed into new creative places. You’re the one doing the pushing, challenging creative directors, strategists, account people and clients with smart, strategic and creatively ambitious ideas.

Candidates MUST submit a creative portfolio showing a body of conceptual advertising work across a variety of mediums including video (TV, online), print, out-of-home, social, digital, activations, etc. This position is open to remote but candidates in the Southeast are preferred.

Requirements

• A creative portfolio with examples of conceptual creative advertising work.
• 5+ years of experience as a copywriter and creative advertising idea generator.
• Ability to concept and write confidently across a variety of tones, styles, and formats.
• Great presentation skills, using strategic reasoning to sell your ideas internally and to clients.
• Ability to deliver concepts and copy on time and on budget.
• Must have the ability to quickly shift gears, killing good ideas to create great ones.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
